Shortly after, we then watched a presentation video regarding the tricks and technique on how to make our presentation slides more effective and convincing. Due to the amount of presentation slides we have to create now is massive, I guess it's good for the lecturer to show us the tips and tricks on how to make our slides better and effective in the near future
What I learnt from the video

Lecture
We were welcomed by the lecturers with our first class and briefed right away with the module outline, expectations and example of produced works and blogs from the seniors. Then, we lectured briefly about matte painting and it's uses back in the days when CGI was not introduced yet.
- Story telling and addressing before presenting is one of the effective way to start up the presentation.
- Limit the use of bullet points
- Choose fonts wisely
- Animations is not acceptable!

Assignment 1 - Progression
.
After we were briefed with the module outline, I then started to brainstorm ideas for the outcome and the concept of the poster.
Initially, I came up with the idea of promoting a music concert that is conducted by a solo artist who falls into the bohemian hippie music.
Name of the Concert : Euphoria
Inspirations
I then consulted with the lecturers and found out that the category of the music that I'm choosing isn't mass enough when it comes to the amount of audience that might be attending, hence encouraging me to explore more on the category and go somewhere that is more alternative as well . In all. I studied more relating to alternative indie music, their band and style so I would have the gist idea on how the outcome might look like.
Initially, I came up with the idea of promoting a music concert that is conducted by a solo artist who falls into the bohemian hippie music.
Potential event category : Bohemian Hippie Concert
Purpose/ synopsis of the concert : To celebrate love, peace, togetherness as one. Embracing sexual liberations, eastern philosophy and the beliefs of opening of the conscious minds to collect different perspective of one’s mind. Also, this concert also opens up to the belief of nature where we discover the true nature existence. This concert will be performing live and by a solo artist called Venus Ophelia Mae who called herself a bohemian hippie and so does her music. Venus is known for her styles and looks which are influenced by the culture of the hippies.
Star of the show : Venus Ophelia Mae

Potential event category : Indie Alternative Concert

Her sense of style is weird, dark and intriguing as it is part of the reason why her fans are keeping up with her.

Inspirations
I explored a bit more of a "darker" side of the character since the lecturer mentioned that Ophelia gives more of a darker and also exploring quirky vibes that might have the chance to attract more audience.
Research blog question
How does music industry start and what is the impact of digital technology to the music industry?
How it started?
In short, basic printing press was inveted by Gutenburg for use by the Church, liturgical chant has been reproduced in paper form. But it was only in the 1800’s that the industrial revolution paved the way for a more structured delivery of music to a wider audience
Fast forward when the publishing industries were developing economies of scale enabling them to deliver products to a much wider audience, and the production of print music.
In 1857 Leon Scott made his first audio analysis tool that could record on a piece of paper the audio input it received. This lead to Thomas Edison, in 1877 to go one step further by inventing a machine called a phonograph that could both record and play back audio instantly using a thin metal cylinder. Thus, this results to the creation or so called the birth of the recorded music industry.
World war two had vastly improved communication technology and shown many people that the world was smaller than they thought. Improvements from morse code was needed to produce the tone were adapted by musicians to create the first polyphonic synthesisers.
The advanced music industry fell into place through the 60s when Elvis Presley, his UK counterpart Cliff Richard and then The Beatles all capitalised on them. Elvis was the epitome of musician-focused international audience delivered through record sales and promoted through live performance. In contrast, Cliff Richard developed a similar trait in the UK market and so does The Beatles as well.
Years later, the internet is invented and became publicly available in 1990 when Tim Berners-Lee invented the WorldWideWeb web browser.. As the internet had been restricted commercially for 5 years, many had discovered the internet’s potential as an information and file sharing network. This marked the removal of geographical restriction on distribution of recorded music: you did not need to go to your local store to collect your favourite record any more but online stores were simply inadequate.
In this digitised era, the music industry has expanded in so many ways ,also gave new and young artist a better opportunity for them to achieve what they want with several platforms that is available as compared with signing with a record label in order for them to be a performer. Based on the video I watched, the creation of internet also enhanced many chances as we now have Youtube, music recording softwares, etc. With the convenience we have now, musicians are able to make a successful debut album by recording it at home, DIY or any options they gave which also leads to the closure of recording studio.
After finishing with the research, one question that triggers me to know whether is music really dying or it’s just the industry that is dead? The fact that we know piracy is highly available anywhere and everywhere, resulting the loss of the industry as well. As a result, I found a video, justified by Will.I.Am saying that the music industry is dead and these are his reasons why he stated so also a video concerning to piracy in the music industry.
